Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has been cleared to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals after completing the league's concussion protocol, the team announced Tuesday. Thompson had been out indefinitely due to a concussion suffered in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals May 27 against the Houston Rockets. Thompson returned to practice Monday, after which he said he needed a "couple more days to get completely right, and I expect to be fully healthy and compete on Thursday." After practice Tuesday, Thompson said he was "99.9 percent sure" he would be cleared for the opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
