New York Knicks center Joakim Noah is expected to have surgery to repair a rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder and will need several months of rehab, ESPN's Ian Begley confirmed.

Though surgery is expected, a firm decision on the matter has not yet been made, sources told Begley.

The Vertical first reported the news.

Noah is currently serving a 20-game suspension for violating the league's anti-drug policy.

He has not played since Feb. 4.
