Kansas power forward Nick Collison (left) will work out for Knicks today. - AP June 17, 2003 -- The Knicks will work out Kansas power forward Nick Collison today. Collison, once slated as a top 10 selection and named to the Olympic qualifying team, has slipped and may not go in the lottery. Collison didn't impress during strength tests at Chicago's pre-draft camp and many scouts look at him as a career backup. The Knicks also have finalized their last assistant-coaching job, handing it to former Atlanta coach Lon Kruger; he has ties with Frank Williams, who recruited him to Illinois. Brendan Malone is the top assistant and Mike Malone and Herb Williams will share the summer-league coaching role, replacing the fired Tom Thibodeau. </div>
he can join their other white stiff, travis knight, on the bench. collison could only bench 185 one time. that is pathetic for a big player. he is 6-10, 255, he should easily rep that 8+ times. most players can max out at benching their own weight. sad.
no matter what team he gets picked by he'll have 2 months to work out, and most college players don't start working out till the summer before they get into the NBA.
