    Lakeland Magic News Release

    The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 101-98 at the AdventHealth Arena at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

    It was a back-and-forth opening period with Lakeland outshooting Fort Wayne 3-0 from beyond the arch to take a three-point lead at the end of the first. Andrew Rowsey and Mamadi Diakite combined for 20 points in the second quarter to help extend the Magic lead to five points at halftime.

    The Magic led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter before the Mad Ants rallied to take a three-point lead going into the final period. Down eight points with four minutes left in the game, Lakeland went on an 11-2 run to regain the lead. With both teams tied at 96, Jalen Lecque put Fort Wayne back up with 22 seconds left in the game. On the following possession, Billy Garrett was fouled on a made midrange shot and completed the three-point play to take the lead for Lakeland. The Magic held on to win 101-98.

    Diakite recorded his fifth consecutive double-double and was effective on both ends of the floor, finishing with 25 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks and two assists. Rowsey added 18 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds off the bench. Robert Franks posted 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

    Cassius Stanley led the Mad Ants with 20 points and seven rebounds. Devin Robinson came off the bench to add 15 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Josh Gray added 14 points, eight assists and five rebounds.

    The Lakeland Magic are back at it again tomorrow against the Greensboro Swarm. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM at The Field House. The game will be available live on ESPN+ and on FOX Sports Florida on tape delay following the Orlando Magic game.
