This is in another thread but I'll say the same thing... Terry will let these guys play how they want and the way they want won't work. The sheer talent could get them into the playoffs if healthy and could even win them a first round upset but it won't possibly hold up.
Terry might be a decent type of coach for them if they bring back the LeBron Davis Westbrook trio. He certainly would be much better than a Tibs type. If Davis and LeBron are healthy any coach could look good there. Terry was pretty good offensively, even with non shooter like Turner and Aminu. He might be able to get better production from Westbrook. Terry is a positive guy, and that team needs egos and attitudes to improve more than X's and O's. Would be kind of sad to see him helping that franchise. I still remember the 0.9 game and all the Shorts support then.
Yes, Terry was a solid coach and an even better member of the Portland community-- with that being said, I hope the Lakers hire him so they can remain in purgatory for that much longer!!
Agreed. Once LeBron retires, or moves to another team in a year (depending on who drafts his son), the Lakers aren't going to be much. And Stotts isn't that coach that will lead your team to the promised land. Sure, he'll make you feel good about how he's a good old boy, but Laker fans don't want a "good old boy". I strongly suspect this is just Stotts agent putting this out there so other teams will interview him/hire him, in fear the Lakers are going to hire him.
I'd be surprised if the Lakers hired Stotts. Their roster would need some work to be a contender with or without him. The next coach won't be what takes their current roster and make them a championship team.
You all talking about drop coverage when he would have Anthony Davis instead of Nurk with a broken leg or Enis Kanter and Melo. Comical.
With how terrible Cronin and Jody Allen are running this franchise, and how hopeless out future is, Dame on the Lakers doesn't bother me as much as it once would. Still would be painful as heck though.
