Good, we beat the MLE. I like our offer, that just means he's holding out for a trade or for Portland to make him some MONSTER deal. I think we could still get something for him, if not sign him later.

Wake up agent, you might have just gotten the best deal of your life.

    I don't blame his agent.

    I blame him.

He rejected the $10 mill he wanted. WTF is his problem.

36/4 seems perfect, I don't know what the hell he is thinking. Maybe make it five years? I don't care if Portland offers him 10 million a year, there is no better offer than what we just did.

No way in hell make it 5 years.

I don't want this fool in 5 years when a good game from him comes once every 10+ games instead of once every 5+

5 years 40 million then? As punishment we bring it down a mil per year. Or keep it 4 years 36 million when he begs for that contract again. :[

    4 years, $36 million.

Scrap the 3 years, $30 million offer. And don't even think about 5 years. I GUARANTEE he doesn't get 5 years from ANYBODY in the league.

Re: Lakers had made new offer of 36/4, 30/3 to LO.

Max MLE is 5 years 33 million, what Ron Artest signed for. If he takes the MLE, he has to play for one extra year, and earn less that what we offered.

Like Ron said in his press conference, "If you cannot live off of 33 million, you cannot live."

I always knew Lamar was an idiot, I never knew he was that stupid. I'm surprised as hell Jerry is offering this much money. You'd think LO would've accepted already, there's no way Jerry, or the management get the blame for this. They did everything possible.

Start from 7 million. No agreement.

    Go to 8 million.

Go a little north of 8 million.

Go a little north of 9 million.

He wants a 5 year deal? Settle at 9 million per for 4 years.

He wants to get paid? 10 million per for 3 years.

Everything is laid out, but he refuses to budge from 5/50 million. This is just ridiculous. The Portland thing is bullshit as well. The max they can offer for year 1 is 7.7 million, unless they renounce their rights to players overseas, and Claver (read this on the Blazers forum). Furthermore, if Milsap goes back to Utah, Portland probably goes for David Lee anyways, who is younger, and a much better fit.

All this is a load of crap. LO won me over last year, but I've lost all my respect for him. Like I said before, I don't even want him back, because I'm 100% positive he's going to half ass it. He just doesn't want to be here, period. End of story. Hopefully we can work out a sign and trade with him, but then again, who in their right minds will give him the contract he's asking for? Buss ultimately upped the contract to 10 mill/year, something I never expected would occur. No deal. No more offers, he either accepts these deals or he's gone. I'm sick of this bullshit. This management has been so loyal to him, each and every trade deadline they could've dealt him out when all the fans were calling for his head, yet they stuck by him. LO can go fuck himself. Like I already said, I don't want him back.

Thanks for the thoughts man. Wow how can you not want to be in LA or not even buckle from your ridiculous contract requests? I just don't get this guy.

Something to ponder. Maybe he wants a guaranteed starting role?

He'll still get his 30ish minutes in the playoffs, it is a problem but not one that would prevent him from crawling back. If Mitch feels we have to trade his ass at any point I approve.

He'll feel even more awful in the other places with cap space, he's just not acting savvy at all.

So he's gonna start over Aldridge in Portland? Get real.

Don't even say SF either. They already have two young studs in Batum and Outlaw. Lamar wouldn't work at SF anyways.

He isn't a SF. I don't want him there. But he is better than both Batum and Outlaw, right now.

They want to move Outlaw but Lamar is not a SF anymore. He can play it but he's better off at the 4/5.

Re: Lakers had made new offer of 36/4, 30/3 to LO.

The Blazers are a team built for the future. I highly doubt they sign someone like Lamar, 30 years old, to be a long term solution at SF. Given his tendencies to drift off and just do whatever, I can't see him being a fit in Portland. Batum and Outlaw may not be better than LO, yet. But in the future they certainly will, especially at SF. Will they commit the 5/50 million needed (or whatever they can offer) for someone who won't even fit in their plans in the future? I doubt it. And what happens when Batum and Outlaw develop. Lamar's right back on the bench.

If Aldridge and Oden develop at all or Joel stays, Odom is screwed there imo. He's about to lose millions of dollars, and his agent is being quite passive about it.

Odom has the power to override his agent.

Damn, so far only Baby Andrew had the balls to stand up to his agent. Who the fuck would've guessed.
