Love what happened last night (what portland fan doesn't?). I keep thinking man it would be great if SAS / Denver go 7, not just for the rest. I think it will be good for the whole team to celebrate what just happened today and mentally reset and be ready to go again like next Tuesday or whenever game one would be. If we remember the Dame .9 shot took place only a few days before they started their series vs the Spurs and yes the Spurs were awesome that year and won it all, but the Blazers didn't seem ready for it. With a 6-7 days I think that gives the Blazers plenty of time to refocus. I'm not terribly concerned that this team with Dame and CJ need a ton of help being focused, but concerned enough I think a long SAS / Denver series is advantage Blazers.
Absolutely. I don't know how serious Kanter's shoulder injury is, but every extra day of rest is going to help. I don't relish the thought of playing against the Nuggets and Jokic with Meyers Leonard as our starting center.
With as many people that said we had no shot vs OKC (even some here), I'm not really sure I care which team we play, but absolutely with you that Kanter being healthy or as healthy as possible is huge. That signing might be the best FA signing the Blazers have had...
I hope so too (of course). Especially so that Nervous Nellies Mo and Seth, having gotten the first round jitters out of their system, can focus, relax, and go back to making shots.
Hopefully we switch days and stop playing Tuesday nights. Those are the only nights I have to work, it’s very annoying when we have big playoff games Tuesday nights lol
Both matchups suck for us without Nurk, but I'll take my chances against Aldridge instead of Jokic. And I want nothing to do with Torrey Craig (only slightly kidding). Annnnd I want HCA. Pop is gonna coach circles around Stotts, but it's the lesser of two evils.
So if Spurs win tmrw, I'm guessing Game 1 will be Monday. If Spurs lose tmrw, Game 1 is probably going to be Sunday (maybe Saturday). Regardless, we'll get at least 5 days of rest. A part of me wants DEN to win so that coaches can start game planning.
I don’t care who we play anymore. There are positives and negatives to either matchup. Denver: Deep team and I don’t think we have anyone to slow down Jokic. On the flip side, Jokic is going to struggle to guard Kanter and keep him off the boards and they aren’t as good as OKC defensively. San Antonio: Who guards Aldridge? Plus they the coaching advantage. On the flip side, they weren’t a great team on either end this season.
