Maybe DeRozan but come on, Wall and Thomas led their teams to much better records and both were excellent for almost whole season. Thomas was even mentioned alongside Westbrook and Harden in the MVP race when he was on fire two or three months ago. Dame was great for the last two months, basically since Nurkic came but he also went through average period around December/January.
I'll be upset if Dame doesn't make the all-NBA teams, he willed us from 11 games under .500 to make the playoffs, again. Guys like Wall, Thomas, and DeRozan are surrounded by more talent.
Geko's have one of the most talented teams 1-12. DeRozan started the season hot as hell, cooled off. Lowry got hurt. I don't have either of them on all-nba teams because I think if you were to put other players on the Geko's instead of Lowry & DeRozan the Geko's are a better team.
But he's not an all star! Seriously, he didn't make the all star team last year either, but came in 8th in the MVP voting and was 2nd team all NBA. It will be interesting to see where he ends up this year. BNM
I'm just damn glad we didn't go after DeMar DeRozan when he was a free agent. Dude would have cost to much and can't shoot outside.
Point == moot. We couldn't have outbid TOR anyway. They ended up giving him $139 million over five years. We couldn't have come close to offering him that much. BNM
"Hey guys, I'm BGD, and I'm going to just ignore the fact that Derozan signed a max contract with Toronto pretty much the moment free agency began, not even choosing to listen to other teams. Why didn't the Blazers go after Derozan? Bunch of idiots!"
Wall (23/11) and Thomas (best 4th qtr scorer and #1 seed) will both make All NBA ahead of Lillard. No question.
