What he try to do is get bail out when takes bad shot. He missing layin looking for the whistle. But sooner or later he should realize that he not getting it change his shot selection.

It's the lack of skill around him and the shitty play calling by Stotts. CJ is the only one who can hang with him. Everyone else would be bench players on any other team, except maybe Harkless.

So all you're saying is Leonard and Vonleh are bench players on other teams. Duh. If that.

With your optimism, I thought you'd be sucking Meyers off right now.

Yeah we'd be so much better off with Raymond Felton as our starting PG.

He has had a few very sub-par games recently. Here's hoping he just needs the All-Star break to recover his beginning-of-the-season form.

I think that he's definitely trying too hard and forcing up ill-advised shots. IMO, he's struggling a bit with the self-image of being a superstar while dealing with the reality of being surrounded by a less than star-level team. Even Jordan had that same struggle back in the days of his comments about his "supporting cast".

My guess is that he will again, play much better after the AS break.

Lillard is trying to break out of a shooting slump....as much as he's carried this team for 2 seasons....I'd give him some slack. Shooters gonna shoot

I miss the days when we had more than two scoring threats on this team. Remember when Stotts used to draw up great plays out of timeouts and at the end of games? With Aldridge, Matthews, Batum and Lillard, you never knew who was going to get the ball and take the shot. That element of surprise was huge and we used to win the majority of our close games.

I know it's currently hip and fashionable for all the cool kids to pile on Dame, but with our current roster, Nate McMillan might as well be our coach. The ball gets thrown in to either Dame or C.J. and then it's iso city. There is no element of surprise. Everybody in the gym knows what's going to happen.

The problem is, outside of Dame and C.J., who do you want taking a shot with the game on the line? Aminu is a pure heart attack every time he touches the ball. Neither Harkless nor Crabbe can create their own shot. Allen Crabbe makes $18.5 million and I can't remember him ever taking, let alone making, a shot with the game on the line. Fuck, Travis Outlaw was a better closer than these guys. At least he had that one dribble pull up he could get off against anybody.

So yeah, Dame has been failing to close out games lately, but that's not just on him. We have now lost 11 games in a row when trailing entering the 4th quarter. The last time we won a game when trailing after 3, was opening night against UTA. We are also 7-12 in games decided by 5 points or less. This team desperately needs a reliable 3rd scorer. You never know from night to night what you're going to get from Crabbe, Aminu or Harkless.

And, that's the ironic thing about Hero Ball...

It really only works when you have multiple other scoring options on the floor to keep the defense honest. Just watch the way opposing defenses swarm Dame and C.J. late in the game. They fucking KNOW none of Aminu, Crabbe, Harkless, Leonard, Davis, Vonleh, etc. are touching the ball with the game on the line. It makes it pretty easy to stifle an offense when you know you only need to guard two players.

Westbrook is finding out the same thing in OKC. They are 3-6 since Kanter went down. For all his flaws on defense, Kanter gave them a third scoring option and a very efficient one, at that. Now Westbrook goes iso, forces up bad shots and commits turnovers with the game on the line and OKC loses. Sound familiar. Not even the great Westbrook can win games single-handedly (other than in his own mind).

I'm not worried about Lillard's play one bit. He's just not into it and why should he be? The Blazers have pretty much throw in the towel for the season. Just sit back and enjoy more developing and rebuilding!
