    Special.

He's more Deron Williamd/Chris Paul than Derrick Rose/Russell Westbrook.

    We are lucky.

Apparently, he's more Oscar Robertson or Isaiah Thomas than either of those other two. :ghoti:

I would say he's definitely a pure point guard, whereas Westbrook and Rose are not. I wouldn't say he's CP3 though. Maybe a Deron. Paul is a better defender, and really very few point guards in the history of the NBA were on the same level as Paul.

Damian Lillard is the first NBA player with at least 21 points and nine assists in his first career game since LeBron James on Oct. 29, 2003

If we're talking prime Paul, then I would agree, but really, the current Paul isn't close to the Paul of a few years ago.

Of all the players above, he's the most like Deron Williams, awesome scoring ability with near elite but not quite elite vision. Honestly though, I think he's different enough that he should just be classified as "Lillard".

Lillard already looks like the best point guard in Blazer history. He can shoot the lights out and he's a terrific passer. Imagine how good he's going to be by the end of the season.

Those are some big words, but I'm not disagreeing.

To be an all time blazer great Lillard will either need to
    1) win us a championship, or
    2) have a long and productive career.

I can see a little bit of Deron in him. I don't really get the CP3 comparison. Paul is just on such a different level than what I see from Damian when it comes to seeing things on the court that no other human can see.

Not taking anything away from Damian's performance tonight, but he's got a much stiffer test coming up against the likes of Westbrook and OKC. It will be interesting to see how he handles actually athletic guards covering him.

Watch out bud, I said CP3 on draft night and kept saying it through summer league and was hounded for it.

NBA TV just announced that Damian Lillard joins Oscar Robertson and Jerry West as the only players in NBA history to score 20+ points and get 10+ assists in their first game!!

I don't know, I guess I really don't see the similarities outside of them both being pure point guards that can score when they want.

Wait, I thought it was Isaiah Thomas, not Jerry West.
