There are rumors that Kawhi wanted out of SA because of Aldridge. I don't know how true they are but that was just last season so who knows. I'm glad Dame and Aldridge have mended things but texting every once in awhile is different than actually being around each other all the time.

In my opinion Aldridge is the type who is totally fine as long as things are going relatively well. The minute any adversity hits, he turns into the type that would rather go somewhere else than actually deal with the problem. I am 100% convinced if the Blazers were behind the Spurs in the standings and in danger of possibly not making the playoffs that Aldridge wouldn't want anything to do with us right now.

My feelings can be summed up by the Mike Singletary rant ("Can not win with em"). I just feel like there are certain guys who like to take the easy way out, like Durant joining the Warriors. Sure, he won a title because he went to GS but he doesn't have the mental makeup to have ever gotten OKC over the top. I would hope Aldridge has matured since he left here but what if he comes back thinking he's still a star and wanting to be treated as such?

Trust me dviss, I am in agreement, but I don't make the rules and sometimes I will toss ones out just to demonstrate what things look like that are deemed acceptable. I have had several discussions with mods about things said and done in here and I lean a lot further to the stricter side than you probably think, but have been told what is and isn't an insult in their rules. Most of us have abused the rules at various times so none of us are innocent. and I wouldn't advise "exploiting" it though as that won't accomplish anything. I suggest you contact a mod over your concerns through private message where ALL personal matters should be handled between 2 posters or a poster and a mod.

Its fair to think that. I have no idea how mature LA is. Do you think Dame has the mental make up to take them over the top like the Durant situation?
I think even LA knows if he came back this is 100% Dame’s team. The real question would be, could he accept that Nurk is now the #2 guy?
Basketball talent (right now) Aldridge is an upgrade, the more mental and emotional aspects I dont really know...

Yes, but can he provide efficient swish3 scoring? We could use the team leader in efficient swish3 scoring and percentage. Stotts should provide Meyers 5 to 7 swish3 opportunities per game to greatly increase the Blazers winning opportunities!

Yes, I do believe Dame has the mental makeup of a winner. Unfortunately in today's NBA you need a lot more than just that one guy though. I'll put it this way: If Dame had a 3-1 lead in the Conference Finals I think that he'd finish it off first of all but second of all I don't think he'd jump ship if they did lose. I have way more respect for guys that think they can still do it no matter how many times they fail than for those that don't believe in their game so they have to go join a super team to get a title.

Oh no doubt. My objection was that there seemed to be an argument over if LMA was better than Chief. I love/hate Aminu so thats my bias, but on Chiefs best days Im not sure he’s better then Aldridge.
Especially now that Aldridges interior defense has become pretty good.

Do you have a link to the article that came from. It would be interesting to see the context as I don't recall hearing or reading anything about that during Leonards stay in SA.

I'm still holding out hope for a better option this summer or by the trade deadline next season but with that being said I think Aldridge would be amazing as a 2nd unit scorer as he hits his mid 30's. I just don't think he'd ever allow that to happen.

And that's why I no longer respect LeBron as he jumped ship in Miami once they lost the championship instead of doing like Duncan did by urging management to keep the team together so they could come back and win it and they did. Sending LeBron with his tail between his legs back to Cleveland who only had about 30 number 1 picks since he left and then bails on Cleveland once again to go to Hollywood. Fun to see him and the lakers as losers. I respect his game, just not his methods.

Why are we comparing him to Chief when he's a Center?

The post you replied to was about Chief and LMA. So thats why I guess. I think if LA played here right now he’d be our PF. Nurkic LA as your bigs would be a hard team fors to match up with, might not be able to switch defensively well enough though.

In a couple years its almost certain LMA wont be able to play PF at all.

Btw, as for LMA being “money” out to 18’, he’s still never shot >43% on jumpers. .84 points per possession. You’re better off with Russell Westbrook shooting 3s (.86ppp) than LMA jumpers. It’s the same efficiency as DeAndre Jordan’s FT during the worst year of his career 41.4%.

Man, I thought I was done with LMA takes.

He has 2 years left on his contract. Let him walk at the end and we will probably get 2 very good years out of him.
