The more I think about Howard combined with all the interest from teams that may be a more desirable FA destination for Whiteside(LA) the more the idea is growing on me. My question is if Howard came here and was successful, which with the way our backcourt plays I think comeback player of year isn't out of the question, do u think trading Mason/filler for Monroe could work? It obviously hasn't worked in Milwaukee and it seems Niel has wanted him the past couple years, if you believe all the rumors during that period. Does this work for our 8 man rotation..... Dame CJ/Crabbe Harkless/Aminu/Crabbe Monroe/Aminu Howard/Davis These are all guys that have supposedly had PDX on their list, at some point or now
I have serious doubts about wanting Monroe even if he was given away. And the other problem is that he is a C and slow, no way he can play PF in this league the way it is now. Aminu IMO would pair great with Dwight, I think we then look for very good backup/role players
I don't think Monroe/Howard would be a good pairing. One of the two needs range out to 15', at least, since I don't believe either are good passers.
Howard/Love Howard/Ibaka Howard/Patrick Patterson And those are just PF pairings that are still in the POs.
Agree. We are better off starting Meyers/Howard, at least on the offensive end. Defensively, it depends if there is someone Meyers can guard. If the other team goes quick shooting PF, maybe need to go Aminu/Howard.
We offered him the max last summer. Why do you have doubts now that he would be a target for the right trade price?
Monroe is one of the better passing big men in the NBA. Not quite on Plumlee's level but had averaged up to 3.5 apg.
Huh - okay! That's cool! I wouldn't mind trading for him, depending on the cost. Still unsure about pairing him with Howard though.
As I've advocated in the past, I think we'd be better off trying to pry John Henson away from the Bucks. At least he has some defensive chops....and he fills a need......
Here's my frontcourt guidelines offensively. At least 1 big that can shoot the 3 At least 1 other big that can shoot outside 12ft At least 1 big that can score with their back to the basket At least 1 good offensive rebounding big At least 2 bigs that finish well off pick and roles. Defensively: At least 1 good rim protector At least 1 athletic big that can guard all kinds of forwards. At least 1 good defensive rebounder So perfect scenario that fits all these? Aminu / Davis Horford / Leonard Or Davis / Plumlee Gasol / Leonard Or Ma. Williams / Davis Whiteside / Leonard
Your behind the times. Leonard will be back next year. Mark mywords. And he will force you tro turn the corner on him. Right now he is our only big who can shoot (Kaman wont be back) so he has big value to us.
And that right there would be my best possible result for this offseason. Which means it's not going to happen...
I've said before, I'm a born centrist. I can't believe that we'll sign a quality max guy, but I also don't think we'll miss out on all our targets. So I expect something like Marvin Williams and Cole Aldrich, decide that I'd be satisfied with that, and then if we end up with Horford, make sure I stay seated until my excitement dies down a bit.
I know. Just giving yas shit, but you know me, super positive homer. We will have Whiteside and a resurging Meyers and we will be a contender next year!
