You lock guys like this up when they have depreciated value (if you seem to think he is that). You either lock him up early despite the injuries like GSW did Curry for a cheaper rate, or you wait for him to pop and give him an Ant-sized contract next year. 4 yrs/$50m or 3yrs/$40m with incentives is a great value for even a high quality bench player. While I believe Nas is much better than that, $12.5-13.3m a year is also a moveable deal.
