OT Looking to fill out our Fantasy Football League for this year

Hello everyone!

We need 1 or 2 more people to fill out our league. There has to be a couple of you that'd be interested in this!

I posted this in the OT section a week or two ago, but it didn't get much traffic. I'm currently setting up the 2nd Season of Rip City Two Fantasy Football. I'm posting here to see if those who participated last year are interested in returning, and if there's anyone new who wants to join for this upcoming season:

Heres a few basic things I'll be keeping in this league:
1.) 10-12 Teams
2.) PPR Scoring
3.) 6 Team Playoffs (1 & 2 get BYES)

I have a couple new ideas that I'm looking at:
1.) FLEX instead of RB/WR
2.) If there's only 10 teams: 2 Starting QBs
3.) Small payouts to highest scoring team in a week.
4.) Payout to person with the highest scoring game at the end of the season.

As far as payouts:
I'm looking at a $40-$50 buy-in. For $45 and 12 teams, I'd do this:
Weekly High Scorers: $5
Season High Scorer: $25
1st Place: $275
2nd Place: $125
3rd Place: $50
The payouts will be close to that if different.

As far as the draft:
I'd love to meet some of you guys and do an offline draft (maybe at a local BWW?). For those that couldn't attend, I'd post a thread with live draft results, and would tag you when your pick is up. You would post your pick in the thread and we'd move on our way.

Anyone new interested in joining? It looks like we have 6 returning so far.

@BonesJones I am still debating whether I would have time this season. When would you have the draft?

I like the flex and two quarterback system. I would be okay with $50 if I play.

 

Sounds good. Returnees have voted to have a payout along the lines of what I suggested. I'll add you to the list. Would you be able to make an in-person online draft in the Portland area in early to mid August?

 

The draft date is extremely flexible, and I'll be looking for a date where the most people could show up and those who couldn't would be able to do it online. Some time in early to mid-August.

 

@BoBoBREWSKI I know you said you'd like the buy-in to be lower. Would you want to play if the buy-in was between $40 and $50?

 

@VanillaGorilla are you interested in returning? I feel like I haven't seen you on the forum lately.

 

Bump:
We have 7 out of the preferred 12 right now. (Me, my friend (defending champ), TrailBlazer18, Sedated Fork, Destroyer of Worlds, HAAK72, Rip City Warrior), with RipCityDSCPL as a maybe for 8 out of 12.

 

I was being facetious on the winner take all. I might be able to, I'm not sure. I have a crazy schedule.

 

I have never done a 2 QB league. If we have 12 teams, is it practical to do 2 QB's? I can see teams getting screwed with no starting QB at the end of the year and teams hoarding QB's on the bench.

 

No, 12 is probably too many teams for that. I could make it the max number of QBs you could have would be 2 unless one of them is on a BYE, but that'd take some manual policing on my part.

 

You could draft from the forum if you couldn't show up to the offline draft. Once I get 12 people I'll be able to work on a draft date that works for everyone.

 

I could include an offensive player spot, which for most would be a 2nd QB as they score a little higher, but could be other positions as well.

 

Where my peeps at?? Lookin to fill 2 or 3 spots. Bumpity bump...

 

@BonesJones I'm wondering if you do a in person draft, if you could set up a video feed, maybe skype or something and us out of towners can participate that way? Or would that be more difficult than participating through the forum?

Spoke to @selloutking today. He hasn't been on in a while due to work changes, but is a possibility to return!

So right now we have 7 people for sure:

I am going to introduce an "Offensive Player" Spot. The best option will usually be to play a QB here, but I lowered the scoring a bit so that an average flex play is better than some of the lower starting QBs in the league. Therefore, it's not detrimental at all to start a RB, WR, or TE in that spot. I'll also be turning the RB/WR spot into a FLEX spot (which allows you to play a 2nd TE).
