Wow. This is the kind of basketball that I love, and which has been missing in Portland for a long, long time. Great ball movement, great defense, great rebounding, and a bunch of guys who never quit. I don't even miss last year's team. THIS is the kind of team I would rather watch.
This might turn out to be my favorite Blazer roster in the modern era...easy to cheer for..lot of upside, guys are taking advantage of opportunity
I'm with you; this is a young team with a great future. Reminds me so much of the 2007-08 team that went on the crazy winning streak and totally overachieved.
I really loved the Strickland Sabonis pairing but this team is growing way faster than anyone expected...Stotts is a great coach!
The players seem to put in the effort on the court, and represent Portland well off the court. High character and high effort is a thing of beauty.
I have to agree with this entire thread: this bunch, although young and green and perhaps not as talented as past Blazer squads, is flat out fun to watch. They hustle their asses off out there every play, and while I'm not trying to get hyped up about the 5 game win streak, they definitely seem to be learning how to win. While I have no fantasies that Olshey will keep this roster together, the building blocks seem to be there to build something special around Damian.
The pick and roll is a regular feature of our offense now, and we execute it very well. Much more satisfying than watching Aldridge back down his man.
Total agreement with everyone in this thread. Very much the feel of the early to mid 90s team. lots of fun to watch.
The real blazer fans are there. What about the casual fans? I think they won't take things seriously until the blazers are a playoff team.
I love the energy this team brings to every game. It's not just money for them...they care about the game...the fundamentals
By back down you mean take a couple dribbles then get over powered and forced to take either a tough turnaround shot or turn the ball over via terrible pass out of the post?
