http://mmajunkie.com/2016/11/ex-ufc...nction-following-anti-doping-policy-violation If you recall in April Machida was going to be tested by USADA and declared that he had taken 7-Keto w/DHEA, which is on the banned list. He subsequently tested positive for it. At the time he claimed he didn't know the substance was on the banned list because it had just been added but further research showed that WADA had banned it since at least 2012. Machida will be banned until September of next year. He got a six month reduction in the suspension for saying he took the substance and not claiming it was inadvertent. At 38-years old the timing of this suspension is not going to be good for his career. This suspension comes from USADA. I don't know if he is up for further punishment from the AC.
For the record Jon Jones got one year after showing that a male enhancement product he took contained the two substances he tested positive for (despite other substances in the product not showing up in his test). However he may be subject to more supplementary punishment from the NAC which Machida likely won't be. The lesson: lie?
Career over. This seems like an unreasonably long suspension for someone who admitted to it. I wonder if there was more to the story that wasn't let out of if he disclosed an extended use?
