I think that's a little too much to expect from a rookie. I think he may be like Dirk. He'll suddenly become a bigtime player in his 3rd season while averaging about 8 points a game in his first and second seasomns then becoming a 20 point scorer in his third.
Vintage's numbers look quite accurate. My predictions wouldn't be much different. New York has a crowded frontcourt with Sweetney, Thomas, and McDyess. I doubt Lampe will have too much of an impact his first season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWillTheFreak:</div><div class="quote_post">I think he will get more min then Sweetney and he wont play PF.</div> Doubt it. NY cannot go under full blown rebuild mode. Their large fan base would revolt. As a result, if you want to develop players in NY, you have to do it with patience. Lampe is raw. Sweetney is more polished. As a result, NY will play Sweetney more, since his production will most likely be better than Lampe's as a rookie. NY is going to try to make the playoffs this year. They will need solid contributors night in; night out. Sweetney as a rookie, could do that. Lampe, as a rookie, most likely won't.
Based on the Summer league stats Lampe out play Sweetney but I know summer league dosent matter. We will find out in the Pre Season who is better.
