I hope Greg gets 30-35 minutes so that we can see what Roy said- that Greg is better than Dwight Howard.
Greg is not going to outplay Dwight Howard... All I care about is the guys just getting the win tonight. Greg's got a ton of work to be at the level of Dwight.
Over the last month Joel has been ranked higher than Dwight in Yahoo Fantasy points. Among true centers, only Yao and Bynum are ahead of Joel.
Howard will get his, but we have a lot of fouls to use on him. Should be a fun game, I have a good feeling about our chances. I think the guys will be energized by the home crowd.
Who cares about the Blazers or the Magic. This game is about ONE thing, and one thing only. The matchup between Oden and Howard.
i think pryz and oden should be able to slow down howard a little, and hopefully our bench just dominates theirs.
Go at Howard. We beat them in their house last season because Howard was in foul trouble. Rinse and repeat imo.
He finished with 4 fouls on 40 minutes of play. That was not a real foul problem. The real issue for them was that we found someone who could deny him the ball by fronting him - and that was, surprise, surprise - LaMarcus. When Aldridge was guarding him - he scored only 6 of his 29 points.
On Nov. 10th we beat them despite no Oden, Joel had 2pts, 1 rb in 9 mins., Dwight had 29 and 19. We killed them playing small ball. http://www.nba.com/games/20081110/PORORL/boxscore.html
I'm pretty sure he went to the bench early because of foul trouble. I'm just going off memory though. I could be wrong.
Here is a link to the box score: http://www.nba.com/games/20081110/PORORL/boxscore.html Howard played 2 minutes more than his season average against us. He finished the first half with 23 points - but with Aldridge on him - he got only 6 in the 2nd half. I am certain that they will try Greg on him first and follow that with Joel - but if it does not work - expect to see a small line-up with Aldridge trying to front him and deny him the ball.
Terrbile officiating so far. Oden stands as still as a statue and somehow gets a foul and then Batum was shoved in the back on an easy allyoop and they let it go.
Then Batum with a very questionable blocking foul. Turk has given him the most trouble of any player in the league so far.
