The Seattle Mariners have placed ace Felix Hernandez on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation. Hernandez lasted only two innings in his start in Detroit on Tuesday night and returned to Seattle to be examined by doctors. He allowed four runs and six hits in Seattle's 19-9 loss to the Tigers. There was no injury announcement after he was removed from the game, but postgame Mariners manager Scott Servais said the right-hander was dealing with stiffness.
