How often do players successfully make an NBA comeback after an extended break? Honest question because I can't think of many.

I'd give him Crabbe's spot for the vet min. I imagine he could provide us with roughly the same performance at one-onebillionth of the cost.

Can't hurt to give him a training camp spot.

You talking about Jordan's comeback at 50...not sure I'd call that successful.

Well, it's about time Martell lived up to the price we paid for him!

It really depends on why they retired. We get a lot of people who try to make a comeback after they are left the game when they lost a step or they had a significant injury that never really healed properly. You never get that lost step back but in the Injury case you can have players come back from that and Martell did retire because of his back that has been screwed up since portland. It doesn't happen for everyone but if martell is 100% healthy then I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him, if it turns out his body just can't take the NBA then we lose nothing from releasing him.

He'd instantly be one of our best shooters.

I wouldn't expect much but I also wouldn't expect any personality problems or bad waves, so I'd go for it.

I don't believe so. Can't even imagine! Even after all that, Marty is one of the nicest guys. Polite, well spoken, very down to earth.
