I think its bush league, personally. The best part of Portland's crowd is the individuality. People busting out their 90s gear to prove they ain't bandwagon bitches is dope as fuck, son. Matching T-shirts make us look lame. And I blame the loss yesterday on it since its easier to make free throws if everything in the background is uniform.
Wearing old vintage shit = living in NEP next to HCP Wearing same colored shirts = living in a mcmansion megacommunity in Tualatin
All the home games have had matching shirts. more people wore yesterday for some reason, i think there were pushes to do so since "it looks cool on TV". Just screams total bandwagon BS.
Actually, Blazers announced yesterday that they wanted a "red out" during the game and asked people to wear red. There was about the same amount of people wearing the shirts as previous playoff games. One thing your completely ignoring is that there is something to be said for all joining as one to root on the Blazers. It doesn't make you a bandwagon fan if you wear the shirt.
I hate to point out the insultingly obvious, but not everybody has 90's gear to bust out to look dope as fuck, son. Without matching shirts, you end up with plenty of folks who show up in random, unassociated clothing and colors. So sure, if the arena were 100% packed with fresh OGs busting out legit 90s gear, yeah, I guess you could say that would be dope as fuck. But we don't live in that world, instead we'd get the mishmash of dope as fuck and dopey as fuck. I'll take a unified looking fanbase, even if it looks like we're bandwagon bitches, over a hodgepodge of WTF any day...
The Hodgepodge is what makes Portland Great. Get some Trillblazin up in there. Some Graflectics. The bootleg shirt you bought outside. Those playoff issued shirts you are supposed to rock in the summer to show off u went to a playoff game. You aren't supposed to actually rock that at the game. "Let's Go Bla-zers". \
The same people who are in favor of these team-issued shirt color coordinators are the same ones who call them "Zers".
Again, sure. If EVERYONE WAS GOING TO WEAR BLAZERS GEAR. But they're not. They're gonna wear their Beavers shirt, or a flannel, or a random t-shirt -- that's the hodgepodge I'm talking about and that's what the reality would be (and even when they give away free shirts, still is).
I'd rather that than the entire crowd in one matching shirt. Looks lame. Like I said, bush league shit.
