I would have done that deal in a heartbeat, if it had been presented to me. I had people call me crazy for proposing it a year ago, and not because they wouldn't do the deal, but because they thought Sac would say no. Now, with Nurkic, I'm not sure I would do it. Plus, he's bombing in NO. But I still would have done it at the beginning of the season.
I would still trade CJ for Jimmy Butler. Actually, Paul George would be fantastic.... but it's pretty widely known that he wants to go to LA after next season.
Color me in the "if I'm giving up CJ, it's for an awesome guy on a rookie contract, not a guy who's going to be paid MORE than CJ and who will likely leave in a year or two" I still say no to this trade, but if PA makes me trade him and it's for either Paul George or Saric +, I'm going Saric +.
Saric is actually legit. I'm pretty confident Philly would say no to the swap, and that's not a slight on CJ.
Tip for the OP on how to not get laughed at, or thought of as a troll. Just because you can do a trade in nba 2k17, doesn't mean it should happen in real life.
Supposedly they were willing to give that package for Paul George (who is, admittedly, a better player than CJ), and it was the Pacers' insistence on Jae Crowder that killed the deal. I agree--we do that deal in a heartbeat.
hahaha no man, I'd like Horford+Crowder too, the offer you mentioned is not enough. Maybe include their 2018 Nets pick too! I'd even consider the Bradley+Brown for CJ too. That would seriously upgrade our defense without losing that much offensively. Bradley is really efficient too.
Well, let's see....... he is just entering a five(?) year deal. George only has one year left on his contract and he's widely rumored to be going to LA. http://www.basketball-reference.com...lect=Paul George&y2=2017&player_id2=georgpa01 CJ is averaging more points, while being the #2 option on his team, George is clearly the #1 option. He's younger (George is 26, CJ is 25). He shoots a MUCH better percentage from the floor (48% to George's 45%) He has a higher PER. He has a higher TS%. About the only thing that George has over him is name recognition.
Well of course you didn't include playing defense in this comparison. CJ doesn't really know what this is while PG has a pretty good idea!
I've wanted Paul George for a long time (who hasn't?). But considering the LA rumors, I'd flat pass on him at this point.
The point is, PG isn't having the year that he usually has. In the past he has been a bonafide superstar, but this year he has a slipped a bit. The gap isn't as big as it would have been in the past, and that's without considering the rumors about LA.
