Did everyone miss this at the end of the Quick story? Or did I miss the discussion about it? I guess it's no big surprise, but still... OLive link
The big elephant in the room. 2 of them. I'll put it this way. If Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge aren't brought back on board, there is a very big chance I don't bother with my season tickets the year after this one. If management isn't going to committ, why should I?
Brandon and LMA are committed to next season. If you wanted to be like them, then you should not pay for your 2010-2011 season tickets until they are extended.
why would anyone want season tix if management fucks over lma and roy? i may give up entirely on basketball if that happens
I can conceive of some situations where I could accept LMA not being a part of this team...but if B-Roy is screwed over the Blazers and I are through!
I really couldn't possibly understand why Roy and Aldridge wouldn't be extended. That would be beyond any logic.
I want LMA and Roy to be Blazers, but if they aren't, I will still be a Blazer fan. I stuck it out through all the hard times so far, I am a Blazer for life. But I would admit that I would also bash the hell out of management.
Personally I put the Blazer organization over any one player. I won't be happy if the Blazers upset or lose Roy . . . but I can't imagine not being a Blazer fan ( it should be noted I was a big fan during the jailblazer era)
Yes. I feel totally the same way. I don't care if Brandon Roy is on the team or not... I care about whether the team is winning or not. Ed O.
I see those two things are being tied together. Surely, they might go get somebody else with his cash, but with the way things have gone lately, do you see it happening? I sure don't.
or the fact that I cant afford White level full season tickets plus the gas going back and forth from Hood River 41 times a year + playoffs and preseason
Any time a team moves or loses its best player, it's tough to see how the team could improve. That's absolutely true. The odds of Brandon Roy simply walking away are almost zero, though. If he's on another team it'll be as part of a sign and trade. If the Blazers came out worse for the deal, then I would be upset... but NOT because we lost Roy specifically. Ed O.
Maybe save your judgement until there is something one way or the other that is definitive? You know like giving Oden time to recover from MF and develop before we say bust or surefire all-star.
