With less than four months away to the deadline I figured, you know, what better time to start this thread?

As constructed this team is CJ/Dame with THIRTEEN role players.

Neil has to get an alpha dog. Even if it means packaging Noah Vonleh.

    GO!

Yup we need a 3rd guy bad to form a legitimate big 3.. good news is we have depth like a muthafucka and with that Cle pick we can work something out

I would give up any and all of Leonard, Plumlee (only due to his big contract coming), the CLE 1st rounder, Aminu (I feel Vonleh can fill the role at 90% now and 110% later), and Project Pat (just as a throw in if needed to balance salaries) to get someone significant. Of those, Aminu is probably least likely moved. The real problem though isn't what we have that we could probably give up, the real problem is that teams just don't trade big time players unless those players specifically ask to be moved and are going to throw a fit if they aren't.

Meyers + Crabbe are the two that I'd like to see moved in a consolidation trade.

Would like to see Okafor in a Blazers Uni somehow.

Brook Lopez is the most likely choice IMO. His contract is big so we would have to part with someone on large contract to accomodate him. Maybe even Turner if he doesn't work out by January. Turner + Leonard/Plumlee + pick would easily do this. Maybe even without pick.

Also, I believe Millsap will be available. Would be very short term and only for playoffs so I would not give up too much for him.

CJ for Okafor would be very poor deal for us.

With Simmons and Embiid, I don't think they'd have a desire for CJ.
Still have to consider it though. Okafor going to be good if he stays out of trouble off the court.

CJ is a star, Okafor is still pretty raw and defensively suspect. CJ is exactly what they are missing, their shooting guards are poor but we will not give him. Crabbe for Okafor would be a good deal for both sides but when we can have superior Brook Lopez for a lower price, I would prefer him. Better mid range, better defense.

If we make a trade that actually "moves the needle" it will almost certainly have to involve CJ. I think that will actually help us, although it will make us a bit more conventional.

That said, here are some more minor trade targets:
BOBAN! (He's not getting minutes in Detroit, probably because he's not a very good defender. He got dunked on rather viciously by Valanciunas the other day. But I think we can all get behind a Pat C. for Boban trade)
Tyson Chandler: he's getting very old, but he'd still be a huge defensive upgrade for us instantly. The Suns signed him as part of an effort to land Aldridge, and now they've gone for a youth movement, so they should really be amenable to moving him. I think Meyers would be a fair swap - Gentry might like a center who can rain threes and just have the Suns go back to having 140-135 scorelines.
Nerlens Noel: he seems to have burnt his bridges in Philly but he remains an enticing player. He can get you steals and blocks in equal measure. Maybe a change of scenery to a less-crazy locker room would do him good. Maybe it could be like Marcus Camby being sent to New York. Dunno what they'd want for him, though.
Andrew Bogut: this is less likely. The Mavs have an odd roster and they probably like him, but if they continue to struggle, they might want to unload him and (see Tyson Chandler). But then again, as long as they have Nowitzki, he won't be the oldest guy on the roster.
Enes Kanter: Not somebody I'd want, but I'd prefer him to Okafor (essentially the same player, but Kanter is a more interesting character - Okafor seems sulky) and he's not getting minutes in the new OKC, and we know Olshey wanted him once. It might be nice to have SOMEBODY who can score in the post. But I'd regret it the moment we got him.
Danilo Gallinari: Again, less likely. But the Nugs have shitload of good young players and they might want to find minutes for players like Jamal Murray and the younger Hernangomez and offload an expensive and fragile player. I'd be very intrigued by this, because Gallinari really is multi-talented and I think he'd work great in a Stotts system. But can we afford to have him and Evan Turner both paid fat stacks?
Rudy Gay: I thought it would be a cold day in hell before I'd suggest this, but don't look now, but the Kings are playing well, and Gay is their best +/- player by a wide margin (yeah yeah, small sample size). Maybe he's grown up? Anyway, they've been trying to move him since practically before they got him, so maybe he can be had cheap. We're a bit stacked on 3s-with-the-skills-of-a-4, though.
Omri Casspi: not interested at all, but he's not getting any minutes in the new Sacto and I know some of you like him.
Willy Cauley-Stein: (last Kings player, promise): see Nerlens Noel.

I don't want another Lopez. Okafor pls.
CJ might be exactly what they need 2-3 years from now.
But at the moment any player that takes the ball out of the hands of Embiid or Simmons is a bad move for the Sixers imo.
Personally if I'm the Sixers unless I'm getting a player like Lillard~ I don't trade for a guard who needs to be in his hands to be most effective.
While CJ can play off the ball due to his shooting. He's still at his best with the ball in his hands.

The Blazers could be really good with either a low-post threat that would balance the floor, or a wing that could actually shoot and put the ball on the floor. Crabbe can shoot and his handle is a little better than last year but he is still very reliant on someone else to set him up. Teams will continue to leave Aminu (who will be undersized against many good teams) and Harkless and live with whatever they put up while hounding Dame/CJ.

I am not sure Okafor is an upgrade from what we have now with Plumlee and Ezeli.
I prefer quicker, more active, centers. Not sure Okafor can do much better against Jordan tha Plums did. 7-9 (17 pts) 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. Maybe he can but I sure as hell would not give up CJ for him. I am just not as in love with centers as I used to be. I prefer a center by committee. Unless the center you bring back plays both ends of the court.

Get me an elite wing like a Paul George and I am much more inclined to consider it.

    Another thought: Serge Ibaka.
Why this wouldn't happen: Orlando just gave up Oladipo for him!!!
Why it might: Orlando's looking pretty bad. Ibaka was supposed to be the perfect complement to Vucevic, but they may want to offload Vucevic. Also, Ibaka's a FA at the end of the year, and if they bottom out, they could worry about getting nothing for him. Leonard and Vonleh for him? I think Ibaka WOULD be the perfect complement for Plumlee.
