Well if we move almost everybody but CJ, Harkless, Nurkic, rookies and Dame, we could probably offer him a contract that he would reject.

Hahaha, yeah, that would be a best case scenario as well.

To get under the luxery tax to do a sign-and-trade, we'll need to shed about $19M in salary.

That would get done by a Crabbe trade for cap space and cutting Tim Quarterman.

However, we'd have to trade out equal salary. It'd be extremely tough to get a sign and trade done, but I would look at pursuing guys like James Johnson and Serge Ibaka if possible.

The other option would be to trade our 2018 1st if certain players become available. One player I'd keep an eye on is Jae Crowder.

If Boston signs Hayward, Crowder could be expandable with Tatum and Brown as SFs as well. We could send Davis to a 3rd team, while sending our 2018 1st to BOS for Crowder. That would reduce the logjam in the frontcout and give us our starting SF.

We could also look to package Vonleh, Davis, Harkless, and our 2018 1st for a good SF, but I don't know who's available. If I was Olshey I'd be pushing hard for George still. Vonleh, Harkless, Davis, our 2018 and 2020 protected 1sts might be enticing.

"When he's good and ready" I've never heard a GM do that. Is it common? Or is he just stalling hoping to get better deals?

thats true, but I think he really wants to live up to his potential, he wants to make a name in NBA, wants to achieve something, its not just about money

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I think that just means he doesn't feel pressured to make a deal now, if there isn't a good one. He feels free to wait until he gets one he likes. At least, that's the messaging.

Cp3 is a tool. Jordan almost left because of Paul a few years ago.

    Griffin is soft.
Breaks his hand because his friend says the team is better w/o him.
CP3 crosses the line sometimes but it's understandable given he's playing with Griffin & DJ.

You know for a brief.... a brief.... second, I thought, hypothetically, "what if we had the money to make a play for him." (given his history with Olshey.) But I am sure we all do that when we hear a player declares for free agency. :dunno:
