https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-begun-2024-campaign-eligible-015357541.html Former Arkansas Governor has claimed to have been named to head up Donald Trumps 2024 run for a third term as President. The claim is Trump is eligible for a third term because of the congressional investigations into him.
This is a silly article. Trump isn't going to do this. Would not win the primary if he tried. This statement in the article reads strange to me. "The US constitution expressly forbids presidents from serving more than two terms in the White House." This amendment actually prohibited this possibility. "Amendment XXII – Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President,or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term." I can't even see how he could get on the ballot for the primary in most states in the nation.
Huckabee fancies himself a comedian. He's trying to troll people, because he thinks he's funny. He's basing this attempt at humor off of disproved notion that if he's impeached, he is presidency is nullified and thus can run for 2 more terms. There is no way he'd win a 3rd term, nor is there any kind of guarantee that he would win a 2nd. The people who would be new voters tend to be younger and progressive in nature. And it's likely that this coming election is bound to bring in a lot of newer, younger, voters. Of course, this is assuming the Democrats aren't running an absolutely shitty campaign...which admittedly they're prone to do.
