I have no problems with this is CJ comes on. What effect, if any does this have on our cap? (i mean other than the 3 mil dollars coming off the books) Like total cap space?
So he'll be padding his stats working on his next payday? Great. That might help explain his periodic blindness when he has teammates open for easier shots.
The writing is on the wall with McCollum behind him, anyhow. If CJ can't stay healthy, though, I can see the Blazers bring Mo back at the MLE.
We would still need a backup point guard though. CJ is not a point guard. He can handle the ball and he can pass, but he's not a point guard.
Yeah, we will definitely need a back-up pg while McCollum is being groomed as a hybrid 1/2 (somewhat like Jarrett Jack).
Is Mo Williams a PG? Instead of having a back-up PG dribble and launch 3s, how about a back-up PG who dribbles and then drives to the rim?
Sounds like he's looking for a longer term contract. I wouldn't be against him on a 3 year 6 mil-7 mil. Dwight Jaynes is livid talking about it. He's talking out of his butt. Classic Jaynes. He doesn't know wtf he's talking about. lol
How so? Who wants to trade anything for a $3m back-up who is going to opt out of his contract after the season? I suppose the Trade Exception could be used, but how would that benefit the Blazers?
Unsurprising. He's worth a hell of a lot more than $2.7M. The contract was structured so as long as he didn't cripple himself he'd opt out. I'd like to re-sign him.
I'd think a MLE deal would be enough to resign him. The question is whether that money is needed for a different position. Probably depends on how TRob and/or Meyers develop. Something for Olshey to deal with next summer.
Sucks to here this as he is our best bench player but It seemed obvious he would opt out because he can make more. I'm sure a lot of fans will rejoice with this news, but I think it sucks
