    It still seems weird to me why the Suns would buy him out before the trade deadline with several teams potentially interested in a big expiring contract.

    This also eliminates one of the teams that could have potentially used Ed Davis and that could've taken him on with no contract coming back.

    Yep--@BonesJones has been suggesting for weeks in here that Davis to Boston for a pick would be a potential if not likely deadline that the Blazers should make. This news may well devastate him.

    If you extend the contract out to a full season, that contract is then worth ~$13.67M. Crazy.

    I bet LeBron is PISSED right now. They lose Love and Monroe would have been a big help in replacing his production (and lack of defense), and he's going to a conference rival, to boot.

    He will get a prorated portion of 5M, not 5M for a partial season. He will also get playoff money that we would not have gotten in PHX.
