I know this is the off topic area, but how long will Blazer Fans buy tickets to the same loser games? They do hold the power, when will they use it? @BonesJones
I mean, hate Stotts, Love Stotts, whatever you want to call it they did go to the WCF’s last year, which yeah you dont get a banner or a trophy for getting smoked by the warriors but they’ve been competitive with Dame...
Im not so sure, Im really not, Dame is really special, but I dont know if they have ever had enough talent to be a legit contender, maybe this year is Nurk can get back to his former self..?
Wrong question! You will never have enough talent with the wrong plan from a leader that doesn't know the game.
I think Lue was a dreadful coach and yet he won a Championship with Lebron. Probably more examples of “bad coaches” winning with great players, than great coaches with bad talent. Im not a big Stotts supporter, but I dont think all the problems are just him.
If I had this problem I'd follow a team with a coach I liked. Stotts is a player's coach. He doesn't micromanage or coach an old half court style of play. The choice is yours as this is a sport for your entertainment....I'm here because I am entertained and enjoy this team and the direction of the franchise. There are 30 teams to choose from. Any coach is happy to get a split on the road...we've started with a good road trip all in all.
why is this thread in the off topic section? It should be merged with a similar one in the Blazer section as there are plenty of threads for bashing Stotts. If someone starts a trump thread in the Blazer section will it be allowed to stay?
river answered as a fan of just having a team. He is fine with a team in the NBA to entertain him. In my view the franchise should be managed to achieve excellence in the art of basketball. Winning a championship with excellence of play is ultimate in achievement in this game. Then there is winning a championship with stacking the talent and hope the talent is overwhelming. It often is not, and not a great achievement even if you win the big one. Portland does neither. They field a team in the NBA, fairly competitive, but predictable not, when facing a knowledgeable well coached team in the playoffs. Portland is the example this folly too many years. The last time Portland won a championship, 42 years ago, you knew they had a chance, you knew they had a coach that could do it, so did the team. Same with the teams with a couple runs at it 30 years ago. Twenty years ago, the team was there, the coach was not, and they failed in spectacular fashion. The last few years of playoff, were pretty damn spectacular failures also, because the game is missing do to lack of a coach with the game. Winning franchises almost always have owners with a passionate desire to win. Paying the bills seams to be the drive in Portland. The fans determine whether mediocrity pays.
Are you saying Trump is the Stotts of the government? Or that Stotts is the Trump of the Blazers? barfo
lol, naw, just would like the mods to be consistent with how they rule in here. Why marzy put it in this section when he even addressed that it really shouldn't be seems a bit odd, but then again, odd seems to be the norm.
Look, with the amount of drugs Sly feeds us mods on a daily basis, it's amazing we can even type, let alone make consistent decisions. barfo
lmao! I'm 100% positive Stotts knows the game and knows the game better than you. You sound like trump now,
wrong...I actually like the team that entertains me and think they are building a contender...I like Stotts demeanor and coaching style..I like the culture he maintains on and off the court and the respect he gets from his players...not a fan of revolving coaches...see the Lakers and Kings recently..not a formula for success...we made the western conference finals with one star on the roster. That's coaching in my book. No need to water down why I like the Blazers coaching staff, ownership and roster..I see a lot to cheer for.
