Buzz Todd Archer E-mail News tips Here's what Wade Phillips had to say about the newly-acquired guard after Thursday's game: "We worked against him in Denver. We were impressed with the guy. He's more out type than their type. They are a sideways, finesse team. He's more of a pwoer guy. I guess tht's why they wanted to trade him. We think he's a good player. He started for them every game lastyear. Once you lose Kosier, you look around and see what's available. He's a veteran player. I think he can get ready quickly. What we'll do depends on hoq quickly he can get ready and what our other guys look like." Holland's base salaries for the next two seasons are $1.15 million and $1.4 million. Brandt said Holland was worth the fifth-round pick in 2010 the Cowboys gave up to get him becasue he's a big, physical player who can be an outstanding pass protector. He's too heavy at 344, but Hudson Houck has always preferred big linemen. I also spoke to a member of the front office about what the addition of Holland means for guys like Pat McQuistan and Joe Berger. I told him it told me those guys couldn't play. He said the Cowboys just preferred to have a more experienced option. That sounds like a euphemism for those guys can't play to me. Who knew Kyle Kosier would be so hard to repalce? What do you think?
