First episode debuted yesterday. I enjoyed it, and I think the series looks really promising based on the debut. I'm really anxious to see where they take the series over the course of the next few weeks. First episode is below for those who are interested. No problem man! I'm a huge MK fan too. I've always loved the video games, and as campy and cheesy as the movies were, I somewhat enjoyed those too. I'm really hoping this series delivers big. The series premiere was promising, and it definitely is continuing off the style of the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth trailer from last year, which is the reason why this series even exists. Hopefully it gets a lot of success, that way we may be able to see a spin-off movie in this style that's not as campy and cheesy as the ones from the '90s were.
Not every game, but given that I've been playing video games for about 20 years, I've easily played hundreds (my 360 alone has had 103 titles played on it..and this excludes the games I played on my FIRST 360).
I pretty much just go with sports games, and of course the occasional 9+/10 games for PS3. You guys should read more.
Reading doesn't do it for me anymore. I used to read all the time up until my senior year in high school. Now...it's just boring. I'd much rather play video games. They're significantly more interactive, and the story that some tell are better than a lot of the books you can find. I do however, enjoy reading graphic novels/comic books from time to time.
Is 12:30 minutes the maximum for youtube? 22 minute episodes (like most shows/sitcoms) would be awesome.
Don't think so. However, given that this is a web-series, I imagine the budget is pretty small, so making longer shows would probably be out of the question for them.
Yea I agree. Also I hear that there will only be 10 episodes which means its not going to be going on to long.
I believe you're correct on that. That at least means it'll be a good 2 hours, so that's basically like a movie. Hopefully this is successful enough to GET an actual movie with a big 'ol budget...that'd be nice.
I'd rather them get a full tv series of around 50 episodes instead of a movie. But I still would love to see a movie with a big budget as you pointed out being made for this web series.
Well, there was a video recently on IGN where the director of the series mentions he'd at least like to make a second season of the show, because there's a huge part of the MK world that he won't be exploring with this series, and that's the relationship between Kung Lao and Liu Kang. We'll see how this first season ends up going, but based on what I've seen so far, I feel like, at the very least, a second season for the web series wouldn't be a a bad thing. Oh, and believe me, I'd love a couple seasons of an actual TV show, because it'll still have a nice budget.
Episode 2 has been released:
Just watched episode 2, and it was damn good, yet again. I'm anxious to see next week, and hopefully they reveal the new Jax. So yea, so far so good for this show. I've thoroughly enjoyed both episodes, and the ending of each one makes me want the next episode to come, which generally means the show is succeeding at what it's trying to do.
