LINK So far Neil has interviewed RHJ and RJ Hunter - Dekker is on ....deck. Batum finally out of here? There is a God and he reads S2.
I'll take a stab in the dark and say that Neil's target is Mario Hezonja - he'll go somewhere around 5-7.
KAT/Okafor/Russell are safe bets to go top-5 with new draft buzz at the combine saying that a lot of execs believe Kristaps Porzingis wont drop past #3 and could go #1.
Joey Buckets I guess impressed at the Combine. Hope he gets a chance in the NBA. Kid was awesome with the Ducks.
I wont get my hopes up this time. The last time the Blazers really tried to trade up we ended up staying at #22 and selecting Nolan Smith.
I know what you mean. Once the Blazers set their sights on a player they go to another team. It's like the law or something.
With how well Dame/CJ/and Meyers have done, I would trust Neil. If he thinks that's the best way to go.
If the blazers are shopping batum to move up.... It kinda makes me feel uneasy about Aldridge resigning. Trading a starter for a draft pick doesnt exactly scream win now mode to Aldridge.
If we can trade Batum to a team with capspace and a pick we want then we can get rid of his salary and create capspace and a TPE I believe, then go after a FA to replace Nic (Danny Green or Aminu for example)
So I guess the question is which team would benefit from trading their pick for Nic and #23? Who needs a veteran sF who they think they can re-sign next summer?
Maybe Aldridge wasn't happy with Batum this year and that was part of his exit interview with Neil and Paul. I know as a teammate I wouldn't be happy about the inconsistent effort.
