    </span></div>

Last week, we took at a look at the big men, and this week we look at a player who may not be big in size put sure does play big. Who may be the most valuable guard, or even current player, is none other than Chris Paul.

He is having an amazing season so far and if he can keep this up, no doubt in my mind he belongs in the catagory as one of the greatest guards to play the game. He has thus far, led the Hornets to an 18-10 and only 2.5 games behind Western Conference leader San Antonio Spurs. Lets just take a quick look at his stat line so far: 21 ppg, 10 apg, 2.8 spg, 48.3% FG, 91.3% . And many of you may not know this because of the lack of publicity this team gets but CP3 is outperforming 2-time MVP Nash. The hornets recently played the suns and it was pretty apparent that Paul played the better between the two.

So what makes him so much better than everyone else? Paul is lightning-quick, and is as good as it gets when he hits the open floor on a fast break. He can beat anyone on the perimeter and he can take the three whenever he needs to (especially with Peja out right now). And furthermore, he probably has the best dribbling skills out of anyone in the league... which can be seen in his league low turnover ratio out of all the elite PGs averaging only a turnover in 9.7% of his possessions.. an unusually low amount (82games.com with the stat). Then theres the other aspect of basketball: defense. He leads the league with 2.8 steals a game, which is far more than anyone else. Fast hands, speed, and the ability to get loose balls with ease are all traits you see in him, which is why he can beat anyone on the fast break.

15 double-doubles in 28 outings, one game with 21 assists, couple 40 point games, which really shows how balanced of a player he is. Hes only had less than 2 steals in a game twice this season. Hes had the highest player effiency rating in 30 years including players like Stockton and Isiah Thomas. In fact, lets compare their best season stats to CPs current stats.

John Stockson 17.4 ppg, 14.6 apg, 2.6 rpg, 3.5 TOs
Isiah Thomas 19.1 ppg, 12.4 apg, 4.0 rpg, 3.3 TOs
Chris Paul 22.3 ppg, 10.2 apg, 4.1 rpg, 3.2 TOs

His stats dont lie. Whats crazy is that Hornets easily play a much slower pace than these older guys did which means Chris Paul has probably at least 10 less possessions a game than they did. He is one of the greatest guards to play this game if he keeps it up. He sure doesnt show signs of slowing down as he actually just dropped 40 points tonight. I'm not necessarily saying Paul is better than them, but he is on pace to have one of the best seasons by a smaller PG and what astonishes me is that its not even being talked about that much and that it gets such little buzz.

Someone put on the Hornets game on NBA on TNT, please.
