With Greg, Martell, and don't forget ,James Jones (we were a terrible team when he didn't play last season) gone, we need guys to step up and kick ass. I think Rudy is going to be the key. Important Note: 2 Days ago Nate said that Sergio is still the backup PG Wheels said last nights practice that Bayless was getting more reps as the backup PG ... I think you gotta give it to Sergio. He earned it and should get the shot. Bayless is my boy but his time will come, we all know this.
Bottom line is that it's likely going to be a VERY rough first 2-3 weeks as our competition is very tough and we have to mesh new guys and deal with the injuries to Webs and Oden. Give it time, we will be a much better team the second half vs the first.
Yep, i agree. We have to stay close to .500 through our first 24 games (or at least not get ourselves into a huge hole) ... if we could go 9-15 I think that would be GREAT and put us in a position for a playoff push... If we stay healthy and get Webster and Oden back... by game 25 I think we should start making our run and hopefully get to 6-8 games above .500 by the end of the year.
I would love to finally beat the Spurs, but let's face it, that team owns us. Manu is out, but our perimeter defense better be very good because Tony Parker will get to the rim all night otherwise. We need for Lamarcus to have a big game tonight on both defense and offense. I'll be a bit disappointed if we start the season 0-2, but I really just want the team to show up and put up a fight.
I'm interested to see how much run Bayless gets tonight. I think he could be the answer to stop Parker's penetration. Let Roy run the offense, have Bayless run Parker off screens and wear him out having him follow JB, then have Jerryd play agressive on the ball D against him.
nate yeah sergio is the 2nd pg ummm....since when does the back up pg only get 4 mins a game? nate better not run with the lines he used on tues or i will build the can nate bandwagon.
