Is Mason (Blazers), Miles (Bucks), and Marshal (Knicks) the first time in NBA history that 3 brothers have all played in the NBA at the same time? Did these brothers ever all play at the same time? I'll admit, I'm too lazy to look it up. Campy, Frank and Walker Russell Caldwell, Charles, Major and Wil Jones http://www.allaboutbasketball.us/nba/list-of-brothers-who-have-played-in-nba.html
Not sure about those guys, but I know Brent, Jon and Drew Barry were all in the league at the same time. Bonus points to the Barrys for also having a dad who played in the league (but, of course, not at the same time as his three sons). BNM
Okay. I have figured it out. Your not human. you are Siri!!!! The ultimate fact finder!!! What would this place do/be without you? I seriously mean that as a compliment... Mr. Siri!
The Russells didn't all play at the same time. Walker was 17 years younger than Frank and 14 years younger than Campy. Frank only played one season in 1973. Campy played from 1975 - 1985 and Walker played from 1983 - 1988. BNM
Three of the four Jones brother played at the same time. Wil was the oldest and played in the NBA from 1969-70 through 1975-76 and the NBA from 1976-77 through 1977-78. Caldwell was the second oldest and the one with the longest career played in the ABA from 1973-74 through 1975-76 and the NBA from 1976-77 through 1989-90. Major played from 1979-80 through 1984-85. Charles, the youngest, also had a very long career, playing from 1983-84 through 1997-98. So, Caldwell, Major and Charles were all in the league during the 1983-84 and 1984-85 seasons. Between them, the four Jones brother played a total of 10 ABA and 37 NBA seasons. They won one ABA Championship (Wil with KEN in 1974-75) and one NBA Championship (Charles with HOU in 1994-95). That's quite a legacy. BNM
Pretty sure there's a third Gasol (at UCLA, but 23 yrs old) and Zeller (DLeague) brother. Not in the NBA yet, however.
The Antetokounmpo brothers look possible down the road. Also, if we count half-brothers, then we may already have three of Shawn Kemp's kids in the NBA without us (or them) knowing.
How about the NBA version of twinsies. Of course, we currently have Marcus/Markieff Morris and Brook/Robin Lopez. Off the top of my head, I can also think of Horace and Harvey Grant and Jason and Jarron Collins and the original NBA twins - Tom and Dick Van Arsdale. Any others? BNM
Pardon me for casting doubt on your credibility Kingspeed but I think you also said Magnifier and HCP were hot.
I want to see a third generation family in the NBA. I know the Mathews and the Boone families have done it on other sports. But if it has already occurred in the NBA I just don't know about it.
Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but the Barry brothers maternal grandfather, Bruce Hale, also played in the early days of the NBA. He was Rick Barry's college coach at the University of Miami, which is where Rick met his future wife, and the mother of his four sons, Pam Hale. So, Jon, Brent and Drew Barry's father and grandfather both also played in the NBA. BNM
We drafted Major Jones out of college way back in the early days of the franchise but I'm not sure he ever played for us. We had Caldwell for at least two years awhile back. I'm too lazy to Google.......
That would be Caldwell, but he played a lot of places over his 17-year professional career. He played for 5 NBA teams and 3 ABA teams. But, I wouldn't call his time in Portland brief. He played here for 4 full seasons, over 300 games, during the late 1980s. BNM
Antonio and Dale Davis....Stephen and Seth Curry...don't know if anyone mentioned the Morris twins yet.
