Story mode is great if you are a black guy from the hood. Forced to talk urban, forced to have a black family, black twin sister, Asian girl friend and black best friend. You can't choose options, the story does it for you. It's completely asinine. The game play is really good
Got this game today. Aminu just had a big game for me in a loss though to the Heat. 12 pts, 8rebs, 4assts and 3 steals. Who needs Batum anyway.
The difference is, you are able to choose between a blackvand white player. If it were just a black character, then no biggie. It's stupid. But yes, if the family was only white, and my black center I created had a white twin sister I would think it was stupid
NBA2k16 is trying something new. They hired Spike Lee to write and direct the story mode in the game. I'm sure if this is a popular feature they will hire more people to write different story modes. Maybe they'll hire someone like Tom Hanks or Billy Bob Thorton to write and direct a story that is more entertaining to you.
The story is fine. All I'm saying is if you can change the look of your player, why not the familt too? Also, games in years past you could pick the kind of answers to give to form your personality. This game doesn't allow you to do that.
Again, sly, the story can work. Its just stupid that if you can change the race of your player, why not the family. No story has to change
Who picks a white player to start with anyways in these games? That automatically starts you off with -10 athleticism points
I remember when Ted Turner got criticized for colorizing old movies, now you want to decolorize media. What an odd full circle we've come.
LOL Careful MM, you may be deemed a racist. Also someone will come in on here and say you can't be offended because your white.
It is stupid. With all the upgrades in computer power, you'd think they'd be able to accomplish something as simple as this. They are idiots for allowing it to happen.
MM's concern, as I'm reading it, is the stereotyping of the black athlete. It is assumed, by story-mode, that if you are a black basketball player, that you are also necessarily from an inner city ghetto with poor grammar/diction and only have black friends (and an Asian girlfriend). I could easily see that being construed as racist.
