New to here, but some know me. Hopefully, it's the ones that I get along with...lol. Sly, ABM, Wheels, how's it going? Who else is here?
Welcome! It's always good to have more participants and more perspectives. Hope you enjoy this forum.
expect it to continue too.. Olive really screwed their forum.. I have been a 10 post a day guy there for the last 8 years or so.. not that I dont like you guys though. Just I knew them first.. hard for me not to leave the dance with who I came with.
some thing where you post and then it runs through a filter (not sure if its human or CPU) but it takes about 5 minutes for your post to appear.. which means 5 minutes for a response.. etc, so in all it could take 10 minutes just to know if a game is on KGW for example. its sad really.
Hey man! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'm the best mod on this board and I know everything. So ask away, and you will get your wish...for the right price.
Wow! I know forums can set it so the admins/mods must approve all posts before they go up, but I've never seen a forum actually do it. Just more hassle for them if you ask me, especially if everybody leaves. The format is what has kept me away for years, I the few times I've looked at that site, it only took me a few seconds before I couldn't handle the format.
I hear ya, the format is not for everyone thats for sure, I personally liked it cause you could read everything and talked to more people that way, but it can be odd and overwhelming. I agree on the more hassle for the mod part too, I just dont understand why someone would add more work while losing bigtime posters.
I used o-live for a short time in 2000. I liked the format...an interesting hybrid of a discussion forum and a chat room. Semi-persistence of threads, but still very dynamic. But the noise-to-information ratio was too high compared to HoopsBoards, which is where I eventually settled (which became FanHome). Too many "lol stoudamire sux!!!!" types of posts. Sure, Stoudamire sucked, but where's the insight?
