    Hello,

What does this mean? We lost the ability to sign and trade for salRy eating purposes? Was that the only potential benefit we had of him?
I thought we had his rights? Did we sign off on him going to Milwaukee for the full mle? Or does that mean we now have the full mle to use since Milwaukie paid it?

If one of you cap gurus would be so kind to explain I would truly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.

If you're a numbers nerd like me, it really isn't that bad. Very infortmative and helps you understand a whole lot of whats happening.

I am not a numbers guy. Not in sports anyhow.
I will give it some read when on vacation the week after next. Free time is something I have little of. That is why I come here to get my news and info and entertainment all in one nice little package with a bow! This place is fantastic!

(And for the record, I am a cat person more than a dog person! ;)

All this NBA contract makes me sick. How much is the salary of a water boy? Maybe I can apply

I was about to say maybe we can get something from the Bucks to structure this as as sign and trade so they keep their MLE. But I remembered... acquiring a sign and trade player hard caps them and as their in the luxury tax I don't think they could get under. So thats probably not possible.

I don't get the Joe love. Guy had fallen off the face of the earth last season, AND he's coming off a major injury AND he's old.

Look at how difficult it was for Wesley Matthews to come back and not suck. And he's younger and far more athletic.

Joe is coming back from an ACL; those usually have full recovery. Players like Jerry Rice have even come back in 3 months.

Wes had an Achilles, much more serious, longer recovery, never was quite the same. Most players, Kobe, etc normally don't make it 100% back. Durant seems to be an exception, but he still was over a year recovery.

But to your first point; I agree that its going to be very hard for a player who already had athleticisms limits, was only a role player, and is in his mid 30's to come back and provide value beyond the $7 million he signed for. I probably wouldn't have wanted the Blazers to match this salary, although as a one year deal there wouldn't have been a lot of downside. For the Bucks this is more costly as they lost the opportunity cost of using the MLE on someone else.

True, I confused the injuries that Wesley had. But my point remains, Joe is in his mid 3o's, was already declining *before* the injury, and isn't getting any younger.

Not sure how his signing can be spun as great.
