I like all three of those choices and would be satisfied with any of them. I would rather have JVG over the other two though. He has some youth to him and since we have a young team I think he might be able to connect with the players in a better way. However all three would make a fine coach for this organization.

Houston Chronicle: "A week after the Rockets began their search for a successor to Rudy Tomjanovich by interviewing Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Dunleavy, they face a choice between Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Dunleavy."

i doubt that obrien woulda gotten a huge amount of offers, no one would choose him over van gundy or larry brown, and i think he's still seen as a new coach, one that people would still doubt if he'd be effective with other teams, but its not like it matters at this point.

true he doesnt have a lot of experience but he obviiously has a greatg reputation in the league after brining a team lacking talent like the celtics to back to back playoff runs. he would certainly get offers not too far from van gundy a=and sils

well lets be honest, obrien coached the celtics, and the celtics have antoine walker, so obviously not much coaching has to be done!

yea, but think of the talent that the celtics have besides Paul Pierce and Walker. he doesnt have much talent to coach

JVG is now the Rockets coach. All that is left is the contract work but JVG will definetly be coming to Houston. That just shows how bad the Washington franchise is. He was offered the head coach job, the GM position and part ownership and he still chose Houston. Good decision by the Rockets and JVG.
