“It’s pretty crazy if you think about it: he’s a top-five player in the world and he is letting his trainer criticize, critique and challenge him, while not making one excuse,” Beckner said. “To tell him he’s NGE and he needs to do better and he just takes ownership and responds ‘You’re right … and I will.’

“That’s what makes him elite,” Beckner said. “That’s what makes him one of the best of the best.”

What a great mentality for continued growth... exactly what we've seen from him during his career.

Can you imagine the dearth of excuses and phony platitudes that someone like Meyers Leonard would've said to sound like he cared.

You just wanted to beat us to it...

I think this shows that Dame would be very well suited for a coach that emphasizes accountability and structure. If we are moving on from Stotts which a lot are reporting we are, this means we can go out and get a coach that is going to tell guys when they aren't doing good enough and Dame will back that coach up. The coach could also demand the team to learn more approaches/schemes on both sides of the floor and hold guys accountable when they don't play within that called for structure. I just think it means that Dame will lead this team to follow a coach that takes a different approach than Stotts.
