working on a deal for Boggie and then he panicked and signed with GS. Im thinking since his agent is the same as Nurks Neil suggested we'd be in a better position to sign him after 18/19 season and know more about his recovery. We will have a shot at him if we want.
    Not sure id want though....

I buy it because it appears the Blazers entire plan for the the offseason was the Cousins trade and once that fell through well we have what we have.

I just cant think why is agent wouldn't keep him available if a trade was really possible this year in the scheme of things. Thus my reasoning of after one year recovery from injury.

I don’t really understand the agent thing either but my guess is his thought would be can make more money if Nurkic stays in Portland and DMC plays well this year and can get the max or close to next year.

Nurk and Boogie's agent nixed any deal...if he'd made one he would have probably lost a client ..Olshey didn't nix the deal..he was the one trying to make the deal..don't think negotiations went beyond a phone call

I thought I heard the Blazers and Pelicans had gotten pretty far in the negotiations?

you could be right but I read the agent couldn't do the deal and keep both his clients happy...hence, no deal...New Orleans would've loved to get something for Boogie...in the end they got nothin'

We have some flex, between AFA, Baldwin & Curry there is about 30 million. Then we have a few on 1 year deals that could be much easier to trade.

I have no idea - wasn’t about being right or wrong - Just saying what I heard. I may have not heard correctly or the source was bad. I have heard the agent stopped it a couple times with explanations and never really understood...

There’s no way we can sign him next year if he does fine this year. We would need to give him at least $20million a season (that is optimistic) and we won’t have more than MLE.

He might be available for MLE but that would mean he hasn’t recovered well from his injury.

He gets to recover in a great place, win a championship and then get paid big money when he leaves them next season because they can't afford him.

    It's actually brilliant.

There is no guaranty Cuz will ever be as impactful as he was. He may end up being more of a shooter going forward. He carries a lot of weight on that frame. I'm sorry but I like the development possibilities for Nurk going forward. That ship has sailed.
