I hope Michael Porter Jr. gets healthy and is able to play. Only to show the entire world how OVERRATED he is... I've seen him play live on numerous occasions and never came away impressed.
Seriously, you could start a pretty good poll with who our best rivalry is against. We have bad blood with the Warriors, the Thunder, the Nuggets, probably could throw the T-Wolves and the Rockets in there and whoever Patrick Beverly is playing for.
I still have a fierce hatred for Rockets fans.... but the Nuggets fans are quickly climbing the ladder.
This is one of the many fun parts about actually competing in the playoffs because rivalries don't get fully developed until you battle in the postseason like this.
I read that article that Denver's Canzano-Clone wrote. What a piece of trash rah-rah piece. Nuggets are fucking scared that Stotts finally figured them out... put a big mobile body on Millsap and double Murray, and their offensive schemes crumble because the rest of the team outside of Jokic can't hit the broadside of a barn most nights. Unless Malone tries to pull a rabbit out of his hat (*cough* Isaiah Thomas *sough*), Portland has got Denver finally figured out. High single, low double digit win on Sunday.
I give Warriors fans a 50% break for the douchey behavior because of the DECADES of utter failure and frustration they went through before they finally struck Gold. Pre-Curry/Draymond, that fanbase was TORTURED by just as much failed hype and heartbreak as Blazer fans have endured. Now front-running former Laker/Heat/Bulls fans masquing as Warrior fans can fuck the fuck right off, but long time Warriors fans earned these golden years.
I know that we hate Laker fans with a passion, but they're in the same boat as Warrior fans now. They're just entitled front runners. I hate them, but the Rockets and Nuggets fans are so much worse now.
Harris, Beasley, and Morris are all very dangerous on the catch and shoot if left open. I wouldn't get too confident about having figured them out just yet. Malone and his staff have already demonstrated their ability to respond to an effective Stotts adjustment; no reason to think they're not at least capable of doing it again.
There are new and old Warriors fans. Big big difference. The ones who come to Blazers games with their new Curry jersey are the worst. But they have been filling Oracle/Oakland Alameda Coliseum for decades. I grew up there. Going to Ws games was a big deal when they have Purvis Short and Sleepy Floyd, to Run TMC to Webber to Sprewell and Mullin. Always loud and full. Now, you have those same fans plus another % of new age shitbag fans who have no idea who anyone is pre Steph Curry. Literally no clue. That’s the difference between Warrior and Blazer fans.
