Well that confirms that POR doesn't think they can afford Plumlee. I wanted Nurkic but not sure how I feel about this overall. Plumlee was probably our heart and soul.
Sucks losing Plumlee but maybe we can turn Nurkic's career around. Big bruiser with some touch around the rim. Watch Plumlee take the next jump in Denver, though. I hate thinking like that.
What an amazing deal!!! Not only do we get a young center with big upside, but a third 1st rd pick in a strong draft as well... nice work Neil!
I hope Nurkic is a lot better than I think he is, or else this trade really sucks! Well, unless we plan on using that draft pick in this trade: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jdh2opj
We weren't one last year. This signals rebuild to me. Which is fine, it is probably what we need. As I said I wanted Nurkic. But Plumlee is the only Blazer that gave every ounce he had for us in every game. Can't say that about anyone else unfortunately.
For the record, I'll miss Plumlee, but we just got a real center, under long term control, who has potential on both ends of the court. Also, three first round picks in a loaded draft, and one thing Olshey has proven is he knows how to draft.
For those that don't know much about Nurkic, watch his YouTube tape when he was getting minutes... the dude has a mean streak that Blazers are missing
My guess is we trade one of the 3 picks and keep the other two. Just because we got Nurkic doesn't mean we won't go out and make another move.
