I like what i watched last night. Jusef Nurkic actually trying to take the ball to the hole with authority and dunk it. It looks like somebody finally made him watch some game film and see all the Namby Pamby finger rolls and sideways glancing shots he has been trying all season.
I wondered as i watched if this might have been due to the fact that he was hit several times in the face to start the season. Remember he was wearing a mask to protect his new teeth at the beginning of the season and i think as many as 3 or 4 times after removing it he came away bloody?
There was a huge benefit i watched as he went strong to the hoop. The Kings had to foul him. There was no question when he got fouled. He was not sitting there arguing a call with the ref. He was shooting free throws. He makes them for the most part so that is a good thing also.
I really hope this is the Nurkic we see for the rest of the season. Been waiting for it.

I noticed that too; that's good. He doesn't seem to have a lot of lift though, just barely getting it over the rim. Maybe with practice, he'll get better, or maybe he needs to do some of those exercises that Connaughton's dad had him do.

He doesn't need much lift, the real key is just going up strong, whether he dunks it, or not. Going strong results in both a higher FG% near the rim and drawing more fouls than those soft ass flips and flings he's fallen in love with.

He needs to be the Bosnian Beastm not the Bosnian Pussy(cat).

Nurkic has been putting up good numbers for over a month now, but in 10 games in February as his usage is at its lowest, his efficiency is at its highest. Shooting 54%. ORTG at season high 110 (was 109 last month.) The defense has been relatively consistent all year. It’s clear that when we allow him to be more of a Steven Adams, he thrives. It’s on Olshey to find someone else to lean on and compliment our guards offensively, but Nurkic is a key piece moving forward and our most valuable player after Lillard. And we’ll probably get him at a bargain this summer. (Bargain being anything that’s less than the 25m Adams is making)

I agree. I think some of it was his early changes in weight and minor injuries. He Seems to be finding a little better rhythm and what i am seeing is he has finally started dunking the ball when he get the opportunity. The crown loves it and he seems to thrive when he does. So yeah it makes me hopeful for the future.

Just throw this out there but highlight reel dunkers seem to get injured a whole lot....300 lbs landing from several feet in the air over and over pays a toll on the knees and ankles...I don't care how high Nurk jumps...just want him to score the rock

Nurkic needs more Dunk2s. The Blazers need to adjust their game plan to ensure that Nurkic shoots at least 15 Dunk2s a game. If Nurkic shot 15 Dunk2s a game, the Blazers would be 82-0.

    Better yet..the dunk2 and 1....making it a viable substitute for the swish3

Of course. At least two-thirds of Nurk's Dunk2s should be and ones. I don't know why Stotts doesn't implement this.

As soon as he breaks 51% the swish3 is out the window.

The Dunk2 is obviously a better option than the swish3 no question there.

Jusuf making the dunk2s for 16+ points when he is showing energy can be strengthened by Meyers making the swish3s to give Jusuf a rest, and that can keep Blazer scoring at 112 or more per game, and more wins.

This idea sounds like an extended winning streak.

Would have been the most perfect post in the history of S2, if only you'd have used the Tahoma font.
