I'm sure he is smart enough not to give percentages on his knee anymore. After the last time he got a lot of grief for his 80-85% comment.
Somehow I don't think we will have to worry about his stats. The only stat I'm worried about with Oden is the number in the PF column.
That's 'cause you don't live in Organ--you live in Warshington. Either that or GO is taking is piano skills to a new level and trying to help kids learn how to play the pipe organ.
It's clear the person who transcribed the interview doesn't know what the group Oregon Mentors is. I look at this as a good sign, however. If it was transcribed as "organ" that means GO knows better than to pronounce our state "orygun" or "aragone". For that, GO gets two thumbs up in my book.
He and Fernandez could very well end up being great "complimentary stars". Guys that don't need all the stats, do what their coaches ask of them, but play at a very high clip without having to put up big numbers. I friggin' love this team.
+1 The message board told me that my "+1" was too short of a message, so I typed what you're currently reading.
SSN, you've hit the nail on the head as to why the vote-off game is so hard. There's not a single player on this roster I don't like.
I'm scared to be excited because I don't want to jinx things. Oden's first rim rattler I'm going ballistic though.
I have a boy who is three months old today. The one thing we will have in common October 28th is we will both be wearing diapers. Yes, I am concerned about shitting myself seeing GO in a Blazer uniform.
Hmm... MAYBE. But would the Knicks or Rockets or Spurs or Lakers have been best served to have Ewing/Hakeem/Robinson/Shaq as complimentary stars? Oden is a potentially dominating player and much more of a matchup asset at the 5 spot than any other Blazer. I would argue that it's smarter--and more likely--that Roy and Aldridge become complimentary to Oden. I do, too. Ed O.
He may think he will just go out there and help the team, but he is too big and too good to NOT dominate the game. It may take a month or so, but he will soon be this team's main weapon.
I agree that Oden will probably end up being our most dominant player at any position. I guess my view of "complimentary star" is more about attitude than production. Granted that Oden will also come along with a superstar type personality, I don't think demand it.
