I think the Lakers are gonna start on a real high and come out swinging early, they just had/have a tendency to go way too lax when they get a decent lead (see finals )

    Oden > Bynum.

    That is all.

We're all enjoying watching the nervous L@ker fan talking to himself. :drumroll:

Leaving soon to go watch the game.

I'm anxious to see if Oden explodes or implodes in his first real game. Only time will tell.

Just curious, who is the backup center for the L@kers? This is not a disguised attempt to imply that Bynum will have his head handed to him, I just didn't remember who it was. Mihm?

For us lowly types who have rabbit ears for TV and don't live anywhere near a market that is going to broadcast the game, does anyone know if it will be available anywhere online? Otherwise I'll be left with "watching" the game on gamecast.

    Thanks.

Yeah its Mihm BUT in the Lakers final preseason game Mihm was accidently undercut while flying thru the air at a shooter. He fell hard with all his weight landing on his left hip. He said he was fine when he came to the bench with a limp but Im sure it left a real nasty bruise. He probably will start with the 2nd string this game but Mbenga might get more time than what Phil originally planned

Note to DaRizzle, game has not yet begun, so there's really not a lot to talk about in a game thread...

I'm going to be watching with my Laker friends in L.A., so I think I'm going to get an early start on drinking heavily. I may have to fight them.

Note to Noknobs...plenty of game threads start way before the game to discuss the strategies that will be used in that particular game.

If the Blazers are able to keep this tight, I will be happy.

If they win by 1,000 and Greg Oden puts Bynum, Kobe and Gasol through the hoop on a nasty dunk, I will be happier.

Okay then, my strategy will be to suckerpunch this one guy who weighs like 240, but only after I'm sure he's intoxicated to the appropriate level. If I do this correctly, I should be able to knock him out before the other two Laker fans realize what's happening. I'm sure Ricky will be the problem, as he's prone to violence and loves to mix it up, so I was thinking about using a beer bottle to break over his head, maybe a sleeper hold. If that doesn't work I'll just start swinging wildly until I connect with something. I anticipate the last guy wanting no part of me and running to his car. I give myself 40% chance, but I'm looking forward to it.

Talk about pressure . . . Lakers feel like they should have won it last year if they had Bynum, Bynum is back, healthy and playing well, Lakers are favored to win this year, it is thier opening season game at home and being broadcast nationwide on TNT.

This is the Lakers year, they better win this game, right? :D
