Now that the NBA Lottery has come and pass, S2 releases their 3rd edition of this year's mock draft. Workouts are just beginning, and there hasn't been a significant amount of people rising or slipping quite yet; making this one last look at the original thoughts of where players are going to land based on their talent level during game situations. Comments and Kudos are accepted Discuss.
Why wouldn't Raptors take Hill? Didn't they just say today they would take the BPA? The only team I see possibly taking Hill is the Knicks but Curry is equal talent and fits in much better.
BPA except for the it's pretty much BA 2-Guard/3-Man. BC will probably target a big in FA. I expect Sacramento or Washington to take Hill
How's Brandon Jennings doing in his workouts? I think Tyreke Evans is a better fit in SacTown. He's a terrific rebounder at guard and can push the fast break going coast to coast. The Kings have plenty of scorers and I can't imagine they'd want to take away touches from Martin, Hawes and Thompson by drafting a gunner like Jennings.
I may be missing something but since when has Jennings been a gunner? Everything I've seen about him, he's the opposite of a gunner and tries to get dimes. He seems to have a lot of marketbility for a team that needs some revenue, but if Memphis and OKC pass up Rubio, I'm sure Sacramento would take Rubio.
Great mock since you have Memphis drafting Rubio. That is all I care about at the moment. I'm fired up for this draft.
Regardless of my interest in the Blazers picking him, I doubt that a player with the size of Mullens falls to the end of the first round. On the other hand, I was pleased to see that unlike other mock drafts I have seen, you put the other player I would consider for the Blazers, Danny Green, in the first round. With the comparison I saw to Brandon Roy, I would find it slightly funny if Harden fell to the 6th pick and got taken by Minnesota. Would they hold on to him this time? According to espn.com, Jarvis Vanardo pulled out of the draft.
Hes probably best served staying in. I'm not a fan of his but hes more likely to get drafted in this year's week ass big man class than next year's. I can't see him doing anything to raise his stock any more than it is now.
Last year DeAndre Jordan fell into the 2nd round, and he had the same hype as Mullens about his height and athletic ability, so it's never out of the question. Most of the lower teams want guys that will help sooner rather than later, so once he slips past the lower-esque playoff teams, he could free fall. How is he going to raise his stock? Varnado is still a skinny shotblocker that will always have a small frame that wider players will be able to get up into like Brockman did this year. This year's draft doesn't exactly have the most depth for bigs and someone would of been intrigued in his potential much like Nets did with Sean Williams. Now he's going back to play next to Renardo Sidney and possibly John Riek, who will take away a lot of his attention if they can get eligible.
He needs to work on his offensive game and with another option in RS, he won't get any double teams or such giving his more time to work on that end.
Where did I say he got double teamed? I'm stating that he can develop his game one on one especially with another option.
Jennings is a scorer bro. He is a playmaker, but Jennings is one of those explosive scorers. I think he's one of those players who will do what a team needs from him. If he feels his team needs points he'll go into scoring mode, but if his team has it going then he'll dish out assists. He reminds me of Nate Robinson.
I doubt the Warriors are going to take TWill at #7 when they could trade down to at least #15 and still get him.
A few thoughts. 1) I think Lawson will be taken at 18-20 and that Portland makes a play for him. 2) If #1 fails to materialize, I think Portland will take Patrick Mills. 3) Don't be surprised if Rubio drops down the board a ways.
