    St. Louis and San Francisco split their six meetings (3-3) last season, although the Cardinals won three of the last four.

    The Giants are just 2-4 despite actually outscoring their opponents by eight runs (28 to 20) so far this season.

    The Cardinals have just eight extra-base hits so far this season. Every other team in the majors has at least 10.

    Jake Westbrook walked five batters in just 4.1 innings of work in his first start of the season. That's a far cry from last season, when he averaged 3.0 walks per 9.0 IP.

    Albert Pujols is off to a slow start at the plate, batting just .182 with one home run and three RBI. Prior to this season, Pujols was a .328 career hitter in the months of March/April.

    Jonathan Sanchez went 3-2 with a 2.55 ERA and .224 opponent batting average versus N.L. Central clubs last season.

    giving belt the day off against the tough lefty, cant really blame bochy for that one, although id like to see him get some hits, get his average up. whoa sandoval off today as well...this is what we were afraid of, now rowand goes 0-5 and strands 10 runners.

    Cardinals really shook up their lineup! My guess is due to the 12 inning game yesterday and the afternoon game tomorrow.

    I look for them to get Holiday back soon. Dont know if it will be tomorrow or not.

    Ya, Shumaker batting lead off, normally #8 This is John Jays first start for the season. Freese not playing as well. Theriot not playing.

    Cardinals first. Schumaker grounded out to first baseman Huff unassisted. Jay singled to right. Pujols grounded into fielder's choice, third baseman DeRosa to second baseman F.Sanchez, Pujols to first, Jay out. Berkman flied out to left fielder Burrell.
