Had never heard of this guy, but noticed his freakish 7'8" wingspan. Then started watching highlights and breakdown. He is currently projected to go #40 in the NBA Draft Room Mock, but my goodness, imagine him patrolling the lane, dunking any lob anywhere near the basket, and then being able to step out and hit a '3', post up for a jump hook, and put back offensive rebounds with extreme prejudice. Ibou Dianko Badji - 7'1", 240 lbs, 7'8" wingspan, 9'10" standing reach. It's only highlights and he is raw, but there are certainly some skills that Chauncey talks about all the time.
I have been looking at this dude for awhile. I wished there was more highlights or something. In a draft filled with solid center, he will end up in second round with how raw he is. But I think in a few year under Billups leadership, he can be a starter at least
I've mentioned Badji before. He's not even listed in the second round in some drafts. I think there's a possibility he could last until 40, and I'm hoping the Blazers can scoop him up in the second round.
Unfortunately he has the Bol Bol/Thon Maker feel for the game. Worth a shot in the second round/UFA though - his reach is otherworldly
Neither of them had near that type of power and strength. I get the urge to poo-poo practically everything, and yes, highlights can say anything. But certain skills, no matter how raw, can be developed. Obviously, he is very raw. But you can't teach 7'8" ws.
Oh, well there it is. Welcome to this dude; props to TBPup on scouting him. I hope TBPup looks like a genius.
