I question whomever's making the decisions for the Sixers given that the other candidates they were supposedly interested in were Morey and Pritchard.
Yeah, but there seems to be a bit of symmetry in the way 2020 treats different areas. We get forest fires that blow smoke. Philly gets a GM who blows smoke. Kind of evens things out.
Who thinks the Blazers if they were healthy, could have been in the mix to contend in the bubble. If you do, why then would you want to get rid of Neil? To me standing back at a glance, it appears once we were healthy we are are a very decent team and with a tweak in the right place we could be contenders.
I can see it now, we get a new GM & Coach and they trade Nurk and Dame to put their own signature on the team. This place would go ape shit!
I think change is needed so at this point I can support this if true. Make it a clean slate and also go for a new coach in the process.
If the rumor is true, he wants total power. He gets criticism for not making more moves. Is McGowan preventing him from making moves he feels would help the team? If that's the case, are we comfortable with whoever McGowan brings in? Who might that be?
That's a good question. I have to say no. Sorry, but I feel as if people here are seriously over-rating Collins and Hood. Outside of Trent, the bench is still a dumpster fire.
This is a perfect reply.... Much respect. Yes, we were a decent team - but a LONG way from being true contenders.
https://www.nba.com/blazers/story/2019/4/24/neil-olshey-signed-to-new-multi-year-contract-extension His contract goes until the 23-24 season. Could we trade him for a future second?
That's what I was thinking of. He just signed an extension last summer. Would be happy to trade him for a pick and bring in Billups here.
Grading Zach Collins over Bam Abedeyo was the last straw for me. 2017 was the last decent draft year we had moves for and he blows a top 10 pick on a bust and swanigan. So please take whatever job you’re offered Neil
